Renewal of distribution transformer substation in Plave

Scope of work:

  • Secondary equipment supply and installation
  • Electrical installation works
  • Control and protection system supply
  • FAT and SAT tests

The existing 110 kV switchyard in the 110/35/20 kV Plave substation for HPP Plave I was built in 1975. With the construction of HPP Plave II in 2002, another 110 kV cable field was upgraded. The existing 110 kV transmission line fields (Doblar, Anhovo, Gorica) enabled the station to be included in the electricity system of Slovenia and the supply of Anhovo industrial zone.

Since the start of operation of PSP Avče, a big part of the energy on the 110 kV network also flows through the Plave substation. RTP Plave is an important hub of the North Primorska region, as most of the Soča HPP's electricity production flows through it.

Due to obsolete electric power devices, the 110 kV switchyard had to be completely renovated. Due to the great importance for the Slovenian electricity system and especially for the electricity system of the Primorska region, the renovation had to be carried out in such a way that the disturbances of production, transmission and consumption were as small as possible.
